Throughout my weight loss journey, it seems that everyone is an expert at weight loss and knows exactly how you should move forward. “Oh just go to the gym 5 times a week” “try the ___ diet” “you can do this without surgery” “you know you still have to work out and eat right afterwards”
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
This all sounds great and believe me this was not an overnight decision, people! I have many disorders and auto-immune diseases that prevent me from losing weight and keeping it off. If you do not hold a degree that gives you an educational opinion on my situation, i really could care less what you’re saying. It is quite annoying when people say ‘well, didn’t you lose weight that one time? Can’t you do that again?’ Yes. I can. But because of my PCOS, HS, Gastroparesis, pre-diabetes and other issues I have, it will not stay off. Nothing is going to help unless I am able to restart my metabolism and follow the only procedure that will assist all these issues is the gastric sleeve.
All of the judgements and unsupportive comments can tear you down or have you feeling restless about your decision. Remember, this is your body and you (and your doctors) know it best.
